Tips and tricks for ISRO SCIENTIST/ENGINEER `SC’ Electronics Exam

1. Based on previous year question papers, it is observed that few questions from previous year question papers are exactly appearing in the examination. So, it is very much important to solve all previous year ISRO question papers apart from regular GATE and IES papers. It not just helps you in getting more marks but also saves a lot of time for other questions during examination. Time management in any exam crucial especially in ISRO exam, time is less compared to the number of questions.

2. One should remember that the syllabus of ISRO scientist/ engineer 'SC' is not defined exactly in any of its past and current notifications. But, based on the previous year question papers it is observed that the syllabus of ISRO exam is similar to IES with some special emphasis on some core subjects like Electromagnetic theory, Microwave engineering, analog and digital communication, analog and digital electronics.

4. The weightage to mathematics subject is less compared to technical subjects and the question asked in mathematics are more of general questions which can be answered with basic engineering mathematics knowledge.

5. Last but not least accuracy is far more important than attempting more number of questions. Even if you solve 60% of questions with almost 100% accuracy than your chances to get interview call is very high.

6. The common rule for interview preparation is to be strong in subjects like EMT, Radar Systems, Communication system, EDC, analog and digital electronics. The most important thing is a good command of your final year project, your contribution to that and about your work experiance if any.

7. Many students neglect the final year project in search of competitive exams, but it is equally important when it comes to ISRO and BARC like interviews.

8. One more important point to remember is, calculator and other electronic devices are not allowed in the examination hall of ISRO SC. So, it will be helpful if you can practice questions without using calculator.
