How to improve accuracy in GATE exam?

Accuracy is very very important in competitive exams, especially with negative marking. There are three stages in attempting a question in GATE.

  1. One is not attempting a question which neither improves your score nor decreases.
  2. The second one is attempting correctly which separates you from the crowd.
  3. But, the third one is attempting the known question which goes wrong is a big penalty. It, not just simple negative mark but also decreases your scoring chances and allows others to push you down.
There is a simple strategy to improve accuracy is conceptual clarity. When you have more clarity on the concept then there is a less chance for mistakes. Key rules for best accuracy is,
  1. Practicing the questions with conceptual clarity.
  2. Taking mock tests.
  3.  Cross checking your solutions once or twice. It can be done even in the examination because we can have a decent time for a question in GATE exam.
  4. Respecting the tough question and move on. No more guessing unless you take an educated guess.
  5. Revision is more than anything. It can make you or break you.

Many times, when you attempt the question you feel that your answer is 100% perfect. But, never take it granted because examiner set question paper not for selection but for elimination. Keep an eye on key points where your solution may go wrong.

The above points may help you to have better accuracy without ruining the speed.
